Train with Mastview Gundogs
Mastview Gundogs specialise in small group and one to one gundog training with a difference. With access to 400 acres of mixed woodland and arable land, all our work is focused on simulating an actual shoot environment and teaching your dog skills for which it was intended. Using cold and live game in a controlled environment, we can train you and your dog in areas such as beating, picking up and hunting.
Training and Facilities
Rabbit Pens
Our large contained rabbit pens covering around one acre of mixed cover, woodland and brashings provide a perfect area for steadiness training your dog. Well stocked with rabbits and game birds, it's the best method to produce multiple flushes in a natural controlled environment. We can teach and train various techniques such as hunting, pattern hunting, flushing whilst at the same time getting your dog to remain steady and avoid chasing and running in.
400 Acre Estate Woodland
Located just outside Cawthorne, Nr Barnsley South Yorkshire, we have exclusive access to 400 acres of private woodland. These woods are exclusively available to us and provide varied environments for training. From deep valleys and streams to bracken cover to cut stubble and even maize, we can cover most shoot scenarios. We can use simulated gunshot along with cold and live game to get your dog on point for working tests and field trails
Breeding and Stud
During the year we have several litters of working Springer and Cocker spaniel pups. All our litters have excellent pedigree many from FTCH winners. We also have dogs available for stud. Please contact us for further details
Walked up shoot days
During the hunting season we are able to offer walked up shoot days to put all the training into practice out in the field. Groups are small but the experience is fantastic and one of the most rewarding ways to demonstrate all the hard training pays off.
